Cleaning Methods Summary

Spray Extraction: The spray extraction or steam cleaning methlod injects the pile with a hot cleaning solution under pressure. A large percentage of the solution is then immediately extracted along with dirt and grime.

Rotary Shampoo: In the rotary shampoo system, detergent is fed through a rotating brush about 16 inches in diameter. The detergent solution loosens embedded dirt and suspends it high in the pile. A wet pick up vacuum should be used immediately to remove the suspended soil before it is redeposited.

Bonnet Cleaning: In bonnet cleaning, a pad is driven by a rotary machine. The pad may consist of nylon or a mixture of other synthetic and natural yarns. This method is used to supplement the ahnve two meth ods rather than replace them.

Inplant Cleaning: In inplant cleaning, the detergent solution is sprayed under pressure on the carpet, which is facing up and is moving laterally. The wet carpet is agitated by brushes; then it goes through the rinse cycle, ringer and then is dried.
